IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Mahe

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal over the next two days. The Met Department also predicted heavy rainfall over Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka today. The IMD said, squally weather with wind speed gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Kerala, Karnataka coasts and adjoining sea areas, Lakshadweep, Comorin areas, along and off Tamilnadu and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts.
