During her two-year role, she will support campaigns, field visits, and global advocacy efforts. Bollywood star Kriti Sanon has added another milestone to her illustrious career, not in films but in global advocacy. The National Award-winning actress has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the UN’s sexual and reproductive health agency.
Kriti, who has earned acclaim for her diverse roles in films like Mimi and Do Patti, expressed her excitement over the new responsibility in an interview with IANS. She described the appointment as both a “huge honor and an equally big responsibility”, emphasizing her commitment to using her influence for social good.
“I have always wished to use my voice and influence for a cause close to my heart. Gender equality is one such issue that is extremely important and broad. Whether it’s girl child education or fighting gender-based violence, a lot of work still needs to be done. I am glad I am able to assist UNFPA in this journey,” Kriti said.
A Two-Year Engagement with UNFPA
