EC Instructs Suspension of 4 West Bengal Officials Over Election Negligence

The Election Commission instructed the state government of West Bengal to suspend and lodge FIR against four officers who worked as Electoral Registration Officer, ERO, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, AERO, for negligence in election related works and willfully divulging information to unauthorized persons. Earlier the the Chief Electoral Officer West Bengal submitted a report to the Election Commission in which Baruipur Purba assembly constituency ERO and AERO and Moyna assembly constituency ERO and AERO were named. The Commission also directed action against a casual data entry operator. Election Commission also instructed speedy submission of action taken report by the state government
