Rupee Closes at 87.80 Against US Dollar; Dollar Index at 98.99 in Intra-Day Trade

In the foreign exchange market, the rupee close at 87 rupees and 80 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was at 98.99 in intra-day trade.
