Agartala, Nov 17: Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday announced that the Tripura council of ministers has approved recruitment in a good number of posts including 263 posts of jail warder.

Chowdhury also said the results of JRBT-conducted written examination would be declared in the next few days.

Addressing a press conference the ICA said, “The cabinet approved a proposal for creation and filling up of 17 posts of Ward Secretaries under Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the recruitment process would be undertaken soon.”

He said, all 576 Home Guards would now get dress allowance of Rs. 3895 every year. An annual expenditure of Rs. 22,43,520 would be required to implement the decision. The first dress allowance would be given in December. Chowdhury said the present state government earlier hiked the salary of the Home Guards to Rs. 17,000.

The cabinet also approved Chief Minister’s Special Scholarship for Divyangan Students. Under this scheme, the blind students in colleges to get Rs. 5000 per month, he said.

The ICA minister said, the Cabinet also decided to fill up 34 vacant posts in Tripura Legislative Assembly through direct recruitment.

In another important move, the state government revised the rules for grant-in-aid schools; now transfer of the teachers posted in such schools can take place once in service tenure. Besides, the recruitment process and functions of such schools would now be monitored and controlled directly by the Education Dept.

The council of ministers also approved filling up of 15 posts of Food Inspector (Group C) under the Food department. The notification would be issued soon; the recruitment would take place through TPSC.

Under the Jail department, total 263 posts of warder (male/ female) would be filled up soon. There is total 556 sanctioned posts is 556.

The cabinet also decided to create 10 new posts under the Department of Information Technology, he said.

The cabinet also decided to enhance the internship allowances for Vet Science students from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 9600, Chowdhury said.

Secretary of Rural Development Dr. Sandeep Rathod was also present in the press conference.

Meanwhile, if everything goes as per the plan, the proposed Dental College would soon be seen functioning in the city. The matter came up for discussion in the cabinet meeting on Thursday.

As decided by the council of ministers, the proposed Dental College would start operation in the G+7 building of IGM Hospital, Agartala, the ICA minister said.

A team from the Dental Council of India already visited the existing infrastructure and expressed their satisfaction. The next inspection would take place in December.

Chowdhury said, the Dental College would be a landmark step in the state’s healthcare.
