A review meeting was held yesterday on the progress of different developmental works in North Tripura district. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma presided over the review meeting. The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of differentschemes being implemented in the district in this meeting held at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office of North Tripura district. In the meeting, he emphasized on accelerating the pace of development work.
In the review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said that priority should be given to health, education, drinking water, road communication, electricity, agriculture and agriculture related sectors for public welfare. Projects in all these areas should be implemented properly so that a large number of people can get the benefit. In the meeting, District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B highlighted the progress of different developmental works of the district. The District Magistrate informed that 22 lakh 69 thousand 988 labor days have been generated in the district till October 27 of the current financial year in MGNREGA. Also, construction of 110 paver block roads has been completed in the district so far. The District Magistrate also informed that in the current fiscal year, afforestation has been done in 8 blocks of the district in the area of 639 hectares. This afforestation is includes plantation of agar, rubber and agro-forestry. In the meeting, the District Magistrate also informed that 13 thousand 249 Pucca Houses have been constructed for the beneficiaries under Pradhan MantriAwasYojana-Rural and another 3 thousand 363 houses were sanctionedunder PMAY (Rural) in the district. In this meeting, the progress of development work of different departments like Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, Road Communication, Agriculture etc. was reviewed.
