Rural areas have many talentedsports persons in the state. The government has laid emphasis on building better infrastructure to improve the quality of sports in the development of their talent. This was said by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma while inaugurating an indoor badminton stadium in North Charilam Gram Panchayat of Charilam Block yesterday. Inaugurating the stadium, the Deputy Chief Minister said that besides gymnastics, cricket and football, importance was given to the development of infrastructure for other sports including table tennis, badminton. The scope of this improved infrastructure is being extended to the village level as well. He said that the infrastructure that is being developed should be utilized properly. Note that 27 lakh rupees have been spent for the construction of this stadium. The stadium was built by Public Work Department.

BAC Chairman JekluDebbarma, Chairmanof North Charilam Gram Panchayat Anjana Sarkar Das, Member of Charilam Panchayat Samiti RajkumarDebnath,Chief Engineer of Public Work Department Swapan Kumar Das and others were present at the opening ceremony.
