The cabinet in its latest meeting held on Thursday has come out with a massive Durga Puja bonanza – ostensibly keeping in mind the ensuing Village Council and Assembly elections. The cabinet has decided not only to full up 9,175 posts but also announced new social assistance scheme of Rs 2000 per month for about 30,000 beneficiaries.
ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press meet said, while the cabinet decided to recruit 3,108 teachers from those who cleared Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET)—of them 757 being Under Graduate and 2351 being Graduate Teachers , it has also give a go ahead with the recruitment of 6,067 Special Executive posts under the Home department on contract basis. By next the recruitment process would begin.
As for the Special Executives posts Eight passed youths in the age group of 21 to 45 years are eligible to apply through their respective police stations. The role of the special executives will be to help the police in rural and urban police stations..
One of the most important decisions of the Thursday cabinet was clearance of the new scheme “Chief Minister Social Assistance Scheme”—a Rs 2000 monthly allowances per beneficiary- for the poor people who are somehow not included for other social allowances. A total of 30,000 new beneficiaries will be covered under this scheme. An amount of Rs 6 crore will be required per month.
At present under the Social Welfare and Social Education department, a total of 3,18,415 beneficiaries are getting social allowances, informed the ICA Minister.
Another important decision was approval of 15 percent hike in the salaries of Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers, he said.
Besides, the cabinet decided to recruit 17 professors in Veterinary College on contract basis while creation of 374 new posts in various categories under the Rural Development department has been approved.
On The TET teachers’ recruitment, Education minister Ratanlal Nath also held a separate press conference. He said, the School Education department already started releasing offers to the TET-qualified candidates. He said, 256 offers have been released on September 27 last and another 258 offers have been released on Friday. The minister said, as many as 3447 teachers have been recruited since the formation of the new government in 2018.
Besides, the minister said a total of 44,673 girl students of Class- IX and Class X will be given bi-cycles for two academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22 after Durga Puja.
He also said, two students from Tripura—Madhurima Das, Class-VIII student of Shishu Bihar HS School, and Sakil Saha, student of Jagatpur High School, have secured second and fifth positions respectively in a national-level science model exhibition. While Madhurima presented the project ‘natural cooling structure for fruits and vegetables preservation’, Sakil has stolen the limelight with his model ‘temperature controlled PPE kit’. .
