The Embassy of India in Nepal, in association with the provincial Government of Gandaki Province, organised a Yoga demonstration at Pokhara Rangshaala Stadium, where more than 7,000 yoga enthusiasts participated.
Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, highlighted that Yoga, an ancient practice with its origins in India, has grown into a global movement, particularly following the United Nations’ declaration of 21 June as the International Day of Yoga in 2014. Chief Minister of Gandaki Pradesh, Surendra Raj Pandey, emphasised that yoga has been organised on a large scale for the last three years in Pokhara and is a shared ancient cultural tradition leading to healthy living.
As a run-up to Yoga Day celebrations, a series of events were conducted by the Embassy of India Yoga demonstrations with huge public participation were organised in Lumbini, Narayangadh in Chitwan, Fewa Lake in Pokhara, Lamjung, Kathmandu Basantpur Durbar, Patan Durbar, Changunarayan Temple, Pashupati Temple and other iconic locations for the last several weeks in Nepal.
