A new women police station has been opened in Khowai district. The officials attached to this police station will register and investigate cases on crime against women besides carrying out their general duties. Women facing abuse may approach this new police station for addressing their problem. The pending cases on crime against women under Khowai Police Station will be handed over to the new Women Police Station for quick addressing of the issues subject to consideration of legal and administrative aspects.

It is to be noted that the new Women Police Station is bounded by Bangladesh border on the North, to the South is the Kalyanpur Station area, to the East is the Champahaur Station and to the West is the Sidhai Station area. The revenue villages that will be coming under the new Police Station are – West Singicherra, Khowai Nagar Panchayat, Sonatala, Paharmura, South Padmabil, East Belcherra, Bagabil, Khengrabari, Goyanmunibari, East Ramchandraghat, Ganki, Dhalabil, North Padmabil, Gournagar, West Belcherra, Ratanpur, Chebri, North Ramchandraghat and South Ramchandraghat. The notice shall come into force immediately.
