Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has asked the police and other concerned officials to ensure that Bodhjungnagar industrial area become free of extortionists and trouble mongers.
While on a visit to the Bodhjungnagar industrial area on Saturday the Chief Minister asked the accompanying DGP Amitabh Ranjan to take strict actions against those rackets that create problems for the industrialists and entrepreneurs willing to setup units in the complex, or for those who already have their units running.
He said, the police have to keep strict watch to ensure safety of the industrialists.
“The government has given utmost importance to industrial development and expansion of trade to build a self-dependent Tripura” , said Dr Saha and maintained that no one would be spared if found acting detrimental for the purpose.
The government has taken different steps in regard to industrial development of the state. “Income opportunities will be created with the setting up of industries” observed the Chief Minister.
During his visit there, the Chief Minister interacted with local industrialists in an interaction session and got acquainted about the setbacks they face.
He also directed TSECL authority to keep continuous power supply in the Industrial Estate. He asked the TIDC to reopen all those industry units in the area that have been already closed.
He emphasized upon marketing of the products produced there. He said, utmost importance has to be given to export of the products for development of the industries.
Others present along with the Chief Minister during the visit were TIDC Chairman Tinku Roy, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Secretary of Home department Saradindu Choudhury, Tripura Police DG Amitabh Ranjan, West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and Jirania SDM Jiban Krishna Acharya. Welcome speech was delivered by Secretary of Industry & Commerce department Abhishek Chandra.
