VKSA aims to increase production with less cost & more profit, says Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan –

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan interacted with farmers at a ‘Kisan Chaupal’ in Rajpura, Patiala as part of Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), today. Interacting with media, Mr. Chouhan said that under VKSA, the scientists are visiting farms and listening to farmers to solve their soil or environment related problems to guide them which crop is better for them under the concerned agriculture climatic zone. He said this is being done to increase production of farmers with less cost but more profit. He said hard working farmers of Punjab are significantly contributing towards food security of the country. The Minister also called upon the farmers to adopt direct seeding as is being adopted by some farmers he visited in Rajpura as this kind of farming saves water and requires less labour. On diversification of crop, Mr. Chouhan said it is required to save water and earn more profit.
