Rising actress Khushi Bharadwaj is stepping into the limelight with a powerful and emotionally complex role in the fourth season of the acclaimed legal crime drama Criminal Justice. In this latest installment, streaming on JioHotstar, Khushi portrays Ira, a teenager with Asperger’s Syndrome who finds herself at the center of a high-stakes murder investigation.

Ira is the daughter of characters played by Surveen Chawla and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. As the mystery unfolds, the series delves deep into the Nagpal family’s dynamics, putting Ira under intense scrutiny as a key suspect. The storyline is set against the backdrop of gripping courtroom confrontations and emotional revelations, offering viewers a layered and thought-provoking narrative.

Speaking about her experience, Khushi shared, “Honestly, playing this character felt like a dream! Being part of such a successful franchise was incredible. It was an honor to work alongside some of the most talented actors in the industry.”

Khushi also spoke candidly about the challenges she faced while auditioning for the role, particularly as it coincided with her 10th-grade board exams. “We were a bit unsure about auditioning for this role with my exams going on, but we went for it! I watched tons of videos about Ira’s condition—Asperger’s Syndrome—and tried my best to portray it authentically.”

Her preparation was deeply rooted in real-life observation. “Having the chance to observe and interact with differently-abled children in my school, including a student in my own class, gave me a unique perspective. I was able to see firsthand the nuances of their interactions and how they process information.”

Portraying a character with Asperger’s Syndrome is not only a significant step for Khushi as an actor but also an important moment for representation in Indian entertainment. The inclusion of such a character in a mainstream crime drama reflects a broader effort to raise awareness and foster empathy through storytelling.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India, and directed by Rohan Sippy, Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach Season 4 continues to push narrative boundaries. With its blend of courtroom intensity, emotional depth, and social commentary, the series remains one of the most compelling offerings in Indian streaming content.

As Khushi Bharadwaj takes on this challenging role with grace and sensitivity, audiences can look forward to a performance that is not just dramatic but also deeply meaningful.
