ONGC Tripura Asset hosted senior executives and officers of TNGCL, OTPC, GAIL, TSECL, NEEPCO and IGGL on June 10 last at its Badharghat Base Office Complex in Agartala in a meeting to discuss critical business issues and lay down a roadmap for collaboration in order to tap future business opportunities.

The all-important meeting held at a time when ONGC draws up plans for enhanced gas production and commissioning of new production facilities in Tripura even as the region gets readied for  the much-awaited IGGL Pipeline project that will integrate Tripura’s gas infrastructure into the larger national gas grid along with the other North-eastern States.

As such, the meeting assumed critical significance for ONGC as well as its industrial customers in the state in terms of strengthening existing relationships from the standpoint of boosting business performance as well as giving impetus to the state’s continued progress in the realm of economic development, industrialization and livelihood improvement.

Speaking on the occasion, Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura Asset Tarun Malik said ‘the meeting is an important one to understand each other’s concerns and expectations as well as to find newer ways to conduct business with each other so that our strategically important relationships become even stronger and dynamic in the years to come’.

He said, “while every business entity is geared to boost its own growth and profitability it is equally important to ensure long-term. Sustainable growth will come if the industry at large, too, is in robust health.

‘It’s safe to say we cannot exist without each other, so we must continue to invest time and effort periodically to take stock of where we stand as business partners… this benefits each one of us here, and most of all, the progress of Tripura and its people is assured and remains on track’.

A Anbarasan, MD of TNGCL, was positive over the outcome of the meeting with ONGC officials and said, more meetings like this will pave the way for stronger business growth for all organizations.

Ajit Thakur, CEO-IGGL, and Debjani Dey, Head of Operation, NEEPCO RC Nagar, also sounded similarly upbeat and said such regular interactions are a step in the right direction for evolving business relationships and make day-to-day operations much smoother.

A presentation was also made by the Surface team of the Asset, the unit responsible for managing gas production and supplies in the State and headed by Surface Manager Sachiv Kumar, highlighting ONGC’s different milestones as well as necessary remedial steps taken to address outstanding customer issues.
