Slightly less than one year before the next assembly elections the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun reshuffling of its various committees and joining programmes being organized in various parts of the state.

On Wednesday, state president of BJP Dr. Manik Saha has appointed Bikas Debbarma as new state president of Janajati Morcha on Wednesday.

Besides, the Mahila Morcha state committee has also been reshuffled on Tuesday. Jharna Debbarma has been reappointed as president of the Mahila Morcha. There are six vice-presidents, two general secretaries and six secretaries in the 45-member state committee.

Meanwhile, 437 voters from 140 families joined the saffron camp at party’s state headquarters in Agartala on Wednesday.

With this joining programme, the IPFT youth wing of Khumulwng division suffered a blow as 44 members including two vice-presidents Binod Debbarma and Saman Debbarma joined the BJP.

BJP state leaders including the president, vice-president Rajib Bhattacharjee, two general secretaries Tinku Roy and Papia Dutta and Minister for ICA Sushanta Chowdhury welcomed the voters.

The BJP state president said, as per the list provided to him, there were total 437 voters from 140 families but many of them could not attend the joining programme due to bad weather.

The new voters promised to work for the party as per the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Viswas’ mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
