Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 concluded on a high note, earning praise for its grand execution while drawing minor criticism for certain arrangements.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a meeting on Tuesday to congratulate officials and staff for their dedication and efforts in making the event a success. Expressing satisfaction, Chowdhury stated, “The response to the first edition of the fest has been overwhelming. We aim to organize future editions on a larger scale to attract global tourists.”
The festival commenced on December 3 with an inauguration at Narkelkunja by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Events spanned key tourist sites such as Narkelkunja and Neermahal, with the highlight being the grand Shreya Ghoshal concert held at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on December 14.
While public opinion largely praised the event, some gaps were noted. Issues such as the chaotic distribution of entry passes for the concert and VIP seating arrangements drew criticism. The absence of Tripura Tourism’s brand ambassador, Sourav Ganguly, from the fest also sparked public speculation.
Despite the shortcomings, the Promo Fest marks a significant step in boosting Tripura’s tourism potential. Officials reiterated their commitment to addressing concerns and organizing an even bigger edition in the coming years.
