Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha displayed exceptional leadership and compassion on Sunday by halting his motorcade to assist a road accident victim. The incident occurred as Saha was returning to Agartala from a government event in Udaipur, Gomati District.
At Gokulnagar on National Highway 8 in Sepahijala District, the Chief Minister encountered a distressing scene—a middle-aged man, critically injured after a collision between his two-wheeler and a car, lying helpless on the roadside.
Without hesitation, Saha ordered his convoy to stop and personally assessed the situation. Displaying remarkable humanitarian spirit, he coordinated with local residents and directed his team to transport the injured man to the nearest hospital in Bishalgarh using one of the convoy vehicles.
“On the Chief Minister’s instructions, the injured person was swiftly shifted to the government hospital. Saha also contacted the attending doctors, urging them to provide the best possible treatment,” a police official confirmed.
The Chief Minister later took to social media to express his concern. “I wish the injured person a speedy recovery and thank the locals for their timely support. I also urge everyone to drive cautiously,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
This heartfelt act underscores Saha’s commitment to public welfare and the importance of timely action during emergencies. The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to the locals who stepped in to help.
Earlier in Udaipur, located 64 km south of Agartala, Saha laid the foundation stones for seven developmental projects and virtually inaugurated a new two-story building at Gamaria High School in Maharani.
