Agartala witnessed a grand cultural celebration as the Heritage Fest-2024 commenced at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, showcasing India’s unity in diversity. Organized by Yuva Vikas Kendra, the seven-day event has brought together students from colleges and universities across 25 states.
Inaugurating the festival, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the vital role of youth, or Yuva Shakti, in nation-building. “The youth are the country’s greatest asset, and their participation is essential for progress,” he remarked. Dr. Saha highlighted how cultural programs like these foster connections among people and promote a spirit of collaboration.
Acknowledging the Northeast’s transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dr. Saha praised advancements in railways, highways, and other infrastructure, which have made travel more efficient across Tripura. He added, “Law and order improvements have created a conducive environment for development and investments. Our government maintains zero tolerance for crimes and resolves issues swiftly.”
Other dignitaries at the event included Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, State Advisory Committee Vice-Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, CEO of Viswa Yuva Kendra Udayashankar Singh, and Yuva Vikas Kendra President Debasish Majumder.
The festival aims to be a platform for cultural and linguistic exchange, showcasing India’s vibrant heritage while encouraging the youth to contribute to the nation’s progress.
