In a concerted effort to expedite the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana, a high-level meeting was held on Thursday at the office of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL). Key officials from TSECL and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) participated in the discussion to ensure the project’s success.
The meeting was chaired by TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Basu, with Finance Director Sarbjit Singh Dogra, General Manager Sapan Debbarma, and Nodal Officer Sujata Das in attendance. Joining from NEEPCO were Director Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager Jiten C Das, and other senior officials.
The PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana aims to deliver affordable and sustainable electricity to households, fostering socio-economic growth in the region. Officials highlighted its significance as a flagship initiative of the Prime Minister’s vision for energy self-reliance.
Key outcomes of the meeting included a focus on speedy implementation, public awareness, and government support. Both organizations emphasized launching awareness campaigns to educate the public on the project’s benefits and their role in its success. Discussions also explored government and banking assistance to ensure the affordability of electricity tariffs.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to streamline processes and bolster cooperation for timely completion. This initiative is expected to transform the energy landscape, making clean electricity accessible to all.
