The state government is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services to ensure quality medical care for all, stated Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday. He highlighted recent initiatives aimed at strengthening medical facilities within the state, reducing the need for patients to seek treatment elsewhere.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who brings a medical background to his role, has implemented significant changes in healthcare services, with ongoing efforts to improve district and sub-divisional health facilities, Chowdhury said. Speaking at the inauguration of Radhika Healthcare, a private pathological lab in Ranir Bazar, he emphasized that the government will make no compromises in its healthcare commitment.
He noted the importance of private sector contributions to regional healthcare, affirming that the new lab would provide essential services to the area’s residents. Chowdhury also announced the transformation of the Jirania Community Health Centre into a sub-divisional hospital, with a budget of Rs. 30 crore allocated for the two-year project. Additionally, there are proposals to upgrade the local primary health center to a Community Health Centre (CHC), aiming to further enhance accessibility and quality of care across the state.
