Election for MP of Rajya Sabha from the state on March 31
Election Commission of India in a press release has informed that the working tenure 13 Members of Parliament of Rajya Sabha from 6 states will end in April of this year. The working tenure of Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha Jharna Das (Baidya) will end on April 2, 2022. Election Commission of India has informed that Member of Parliament from 6 states including Tripura will be elected accordingly.
The notification for election will be issued on March 14, 2022 (Monday). Last date for submission of nomination letter is March 21, 2022 (Monday). The nomination paper will be examined March 22, 2022 (Tuesday). Last date for withdrawal of nomination paper is March 24, 2022 (Thursday). The election will be conducted on March 31, 2022 (Thursday). Voting process will begin from 9am to 4pm. Vote counting will be done on the same day at 5pm. Election Commission of India has informed that the election process will end before April 2, 2022 (Saturday)
A representative team of Satyajit Ray Film Institute to visit Tripura
To enquire about different matters for setting up of a Film Institute in the state, a representative team of Satyajit Ray Film Institute will be visiting Tripura. The team is expected to visit the state in the next 10-15 days. Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury informed in a press release in a press conference yesterday. The state government has recently decided to set up a Film Institute in the state so that students need not have to go outside the state to study Film. Finance department has granted fund of 5 crore 76 lakh rupees recently for setting up of Film Institute in the state, informed ICA Minister
Legal Service Camp in Sabroom to be held on March 13
With the joint initiative of Sabroom sub-divisional administration and Sabroom Sub-Division Legal Service Committee, a Legal Service Camp will be held on March 13 at Manu HS School premises, Manu Bazar in Sabroom sub-division at 10am to spread awareness and provide legal advice to the public by National Legal Service Authority and Tripura State Legal Service Authority. and Sabroom Sub-Division Legal Service Committee invites all to take all kinds of services in the camp.
Assistance for fruit cultivation under MGNREGA in West Tripura district
In the present financial year under MGNREGA, different kinds of assistances are being provided to farmers in West Tripura district. Under this scheme, so far 79.60 Ha land of the district has been brought under different kinds of fruit cultivation, through which total 28 thousand 466 mandays was generated and 1 crore 83 thousand 753 rupees was spent. In Mohanpur block, 1.40 Ha land was brought under dragonfruit cultivation, 4 Ha land under tobacco cultivation and 3 Ha land was brought under lemon cultivation. 1 Ha land of Lefunga block was brought under lemon cultivation. In Bamutia block, 2.40 Ha land was brought under dragonfruit cultivation, 2 Ha land under tobacco cultivation and 3 Ha land was brought under lemon cultivation. In Jirania block, 2 Ha land under tobacco cultivation and 3 Ha land was brought under lemon cultivation. In Mandwi block, 16 Ha land was brought under tobacco cultivation. In Dukli block, 1.4 Ha land was brought under Mousambi cultivation, 4.2 Ha land under tobacco cultivation and 1.2 Ha land was brought under mango cultivation. In Hezamara block, 36 Ha was brought under tobacco cultivation and 1 Ha land was brought under dragonfruit cultivation. This was informed by Horticulture & Soil Conservation department, West Tripura.
Meeting on preparation of Tripura Master Plan Project under AMRUT in Kamalpur
A meeting was held today on preparation of Tripura Master Plan Project under AMRUT of Urban Development department for Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat at the conference hall of Kamalpur SDM office. Kamalpur SDM Abhijit Chakraborty, Project Director of SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited, Kolkata Sibasish Bhattacharya, Vice-President of Excel Geomatics Plan Private Limited, Project Mangement and Subsidiary Plans of e-Governance & IT Software, New Delhi Ramakant Beernally, officials of different departments, Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat and of SREI were present in the meeting and have discussed matters in details. The main objectives of the cited plan project were brought forward through a pictorial presentation. The project is based on ‘Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation’ under Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Government of India which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June, 2015. This project was first implemented in Rajasthan under State Annual Action Plan (SAAP).
As many 20 urban cities of Tripura have been selected under National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) through satellite picture. Geospatial map has been prepared for implementation of the plan project. It was informed that Ranirbazar, Jirania, Mohanpur and Bishalgarh Nagar Panchayat have been covered recently. Different line departments such as DWS, TSECL, Water Resources, PWD, Police, Traffic, Fire Service, Health, BSNL and Education department along with Nagar Panchayat under the jurisdiction were asked to prepare and submit their inputs following the format provided by the Agency within a week for better coordination and implementation of plan project in constructive way. Kamalpur SDM hoped for everyone’s cooperation support for the sake of public interest.
JUST Celebrates International Women Day
Alon with the entire globe, Jana Unnayan Samiti Tripura (JUST) celebrated “International Women Day” and the theme was “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” at JUST premises Durjoynagar, Agartala on March 9.
More than 300 women from all over Tripura belonging to different tribes took part in the Women’s Day celebration. Barnali Goswami, the Chairperson, Commission for Women in Tripura was the Chief Guest for the program. Most Rev. Lumen Monteiro Bishop of Agartala was the guest of honor and the special guests and speakers were Devasmita Chakraborty, Law Officer – Commission for Women in Tripura, Gita Debbarma, Sr. Mary Halam CSC and Fr. Lathees S, Director of JUST.
In their addresses, they all encouraged the women to be at the forefront for achieving their goal in life and they should consider themselves as equals to male members in society. They said, we need to uplift women and appreciate their achievements. Always in life in any society women play an important role. They stressed the importance of education for girl children and protecting and wise guarding the rights of women.
