 The Tripura Institution For Transformation (TIFT) and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive strategic initiatives focused on propelling industrialization and enhancing skill development within the state.

The MoU was signed by Kiran Gitte, CEO of the TIFT, who also holds the position of Secretary in the Good Governance Department, and Prof. Rajeshbabu R, the Dean of IIM Calcutta. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha attended the signing ceremony.

This MoU marks an important moment in the state’s quest for progress.

The IIM Calcutta held detailed discussions with Chief Secretary JK Sinha exploring collaborative opportunities for the both.

This collaboration forms part of a strategic partnership initiative aligned with the directives of NITI Aayog under its State Support Mission, emphasizing the significance of forging alliances for sustainable development.

This collaboration between TIFT and IIM Calcutta encompasses key areas such as knowledge exchange, capacity building, research initiatives, and the implementation of innovative strategies to bolster industrial growth and skill enhancement in Tripura. By leveraging the collective expertise and resources of both institutions, the partnership aims to drive impactful interventions in sectors crucial for the state’s development, ultimately paving the way for sustainable economic advancement and empowerment of the local workforce. Through joint efforts in skill development programs, research projects, and policy formulation, this strategic alliance is poised to catalyze positive change and usher in a new era of prosperity for Tripura by realising long term goals envisaged in the vision ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’.
