In a gesture of appreciation, Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder unveiled health cards for all safaimitras (sanitation workers) during a special health camp held at the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Town Hall today. This initiative, aimed at recognizing the crucial role of safaimitras in maintaining the city’s cleanliness, saw their participation from across Agartala.

Mayor Majumder conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the safaimitras for their steadfast commitment, particularly under challenging weather conditions. He highlighted that the AMC is immensely proud of their dedication and remains committed to their well-being. The introduction of health cards marks a substantial step forward, ensuring that safaimitras receive access to quality healthcare at no cost.

The health camp, inaugurated by Mayor Majumder, who also serves as the MLA of 7 Ramnagar, was attended by notable figures including Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, MIC Member Uday Vaskar Chakraborty, and Chairman of the Standing Committee for Health and Family Welfare, Uday Vaskar Chakraborty. Each speaker acknowledged the essential contributions of safaimitras to the city’s cleanliness and health.
