

Famous Malayalam film actor and presently Union Minister of State for Tourism, Suresh Gopi said that Tripura could be a natural choice for the South Indian movies for its scenic beauty- which in turn would give a fillip to the tourism potential of the state. He called upon the South Indian film directors and actors to highlight Tripura’s tourism in their films.
Gopi also emphasized the significant potential of Tripura’s tourism sector in contributing to the development of a new India through tourism during his recent visit to the state.
On his three-day visit, which began on Tuesday, Gopi met with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at his official residence, where they discussed various important issues in detail. These included the state’s immense potential in the tourism sector, natural gas mining, and the transportation of petroleum products. Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was also present during this meeting. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government towards the all-round development of the state.
In addition to his meeting with the Chief Minister, Gopi had earlier visited the state’s iconic Neermahal water palace. Gopi impressed by the scenic charm of Neermahal said that he would present the potential of Tripura’s tourism development to the Union Tourism Minister. The Union Minister also praised the efforts of the state tourism department and emphasized that showcasing Tripura and the northeastern region’s tourist attractions could significantly enhance India’s global tourism footprint.
After his visit to Neermahal, Gopi reiterated his commitment to promoting the region’s tourism potential to the central government, underscoring the strategic importance of the northeastern states in India’s tourism industry.
