Different work plans have been taken up by the state government for increasing the production of eggs, dairy and meat in the state. The government has prioritised on animal resource development to help rural families become self-reliant and find source of income, enunciated ARDD Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das after laying foundation stone of district duck breeding farm at Dudhpur Gram Panchayat in Unakoti district. the district duck breeding farm will be built by Tripura Housing and Construction Board on 1.69 Acre land spending 2.5 crore rupees. Already 1 crore rupees has been granted through state planning. After laying the foundation stone, the ARDD Minister said, this duck breeding farm will generate many work opportunities benefitting locals. He said, Chief Minister Swanirbhar Parivar Yojana is being implemented throughout the state. Many families have been brought under this scheme. Financial assistances have been provided to every beneficiary family involved in animal rearing.
Regarding Animal health services the Minister said, 12 mobile vans are being brought to the state. The state will have its own 24*7 control room for this in eight districts. The mobile vans will provide treatment to animals once the control room receives call. This will increase the rate of animal rearing in rural areas as well as the production of eggs, dairy and meat in the state. The Minister also said, pig meat processing centre is being set up in Pecharthal. The processed meat will then be packed and exported nationally and internationally resulting incoming of foreign exchange.
Other dignitaries present in the programme were Vice Chairman of Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Debabrata Dutta, District Magistrate U.K Chakma, Director of ARDD department Dilip Kumar Chakma, SDM Subrata Bhattacharjee and Kumarghat Block BDO Dr. Sudip Bhowmik. The programme was presided over by Dudhpur Panchayat Pradhan Draupadi Malakar. Welcome speech was delivered by Deputy Director of Unakoti District office Samiran Sinha.
