In a fresh State-Raj Bhavan conflict, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said she has blocked Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on micro-blogging site Twitter over the latter’s repeated attacks on the government.
Addressing a press conference at her office Nabanna, Banerjee said, “He (Jagdeep Dhankhar) used to instruct us despite not being an elected member. He used to send instructions to the elected government as if we are bonded labourers.”
“Today I was compelled to block him from my Twitter account. It is because I used to get irritated by his tweets everyday. He used to speak inhumanely,” she added.
Banerjee said she had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the matter multiple times.
“I wrote four letters to the Prime Minister but he is not listening,” the Chief Minister further said.
In his latest attack on the Trinamool Congress government, Dhankhar on Sunday tweeted, “CM @MamataOfficial Is constitutionally ordained to discharge “duty” under Article 167 of constitution to impart information on Pandemic Purchase Scam and other issues. Guv conveyed that no information, once sought by him, can be screened by the Government.”
