Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the 33rd Shishu Mela of Agiye Chalo Sangha at Melarmath in Agartala on Sunday.
While addressing the gathering Deb said, “A mother has a leading role in shaping a child’s ideal lifestyle and positive character. In addition to reforming and inculcating practice of culture a child needs to grow up with favourable modern system.”
He said the government is committed and working to build a prosperous future suitable for children.
“Parents have to play a role in inculcating positive values in the children and increasing the curiosity of thought by building the image of the culture and heritage of the state,” Deb said.
On this occasion, the Sangha provided financial support to two young athletics and the Vidya Welfare Society, a social organization working for Divyangs.
The Chief Minister called upon the clubs to participate more in such social activities.
Councilor of Ward No-32 of AMC Shilpi Sen, Social activist Rupak Saha, Club Secretary Chanchal Nandi and others dignitaries were present in the occasion.
Earlier on Sunday, a colourful rally with the participation of a good number of children was held in the city.
