

An exuberant display of enthusiasm and celebration marked the Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir’s 28th year with a grand three-day Exhibition-Cum-Prize Giving Ceremony from December 21 to 23. The entire school, comprising about 3000 students, teachers, administrators, and staff, was alive with fanfare, colors, and a festive spirit.
The school grounds were adorned with flags, festoons, and decorative graffiti, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the celebration. Thousands of students thronged the premises, showcasing their scientific innovations through intricate models. Eager to share their knowledge, students explained the mechanisms and the science behind their creations to the guests. The celebration also featured a stunning display of creative arts, artifacts, and boutique sarees, showcasing the diverse talents of the students.
Teachers, brimming with pride and happiness, were actively participating in the festivities, offering unwavering support to their students. The crowd, a mix of students, teachers, and proud parents, gathered near stalls where a variety of food items, prepared by the students themselves, were on sale. From sandwiches to pasta, salads, and noodles, the culinary creations were met with high praise for their taste and quality.
The culminating day of the Exhibition-Cum-Prize Giving Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests. Chief Guest Vice Chancellor of Tripura University Prof G P Prasain, Chairman of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir Debasish Chakrabarty, National award winner teacher Swapan Majumdar, Executive Editor of Tripura Times Manas Pal, Ajoy Das, Assistant Commandant of the TSR Principal Swapna Som, and Headmistress Pompi Majumdar graced the occasion with their presence.
The students, showcasing their diverse talents, presented a series of cultural programs, including classical dance, Bhangra dance, Hojagiri dance, and a captivating enactment of Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. The guests of honor distributed prizes to commend the students for their outstanding achievements.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Prasain and Swapan Majumdar encouraged students to leverage the benefits of the National Education Policy (NEP) and emphasized the importance of inculcating virtues of humanity. They urged the students to prepare themselves for dedicated service to mankind and the nation.
Debasish Chakrabarty, Chairman of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir and a former IFS, expressed the school’s philosophy, stating, “We don’t call it a school, we call it an institution of excellence. That’s why you will find our students not only excel in studies but also in various other extracurricular activities and innovative pursuits.”
