Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has announced the opening of nominations for the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award (TNNAA) 2024. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in adventure, aiming to foster endurance, risk-taking, cooperative teamwork, and quick reflexes among youth in challenging situations. It also encourages young individuals to engage in adventure activities across land, sea, and air.
Presented annually alongside the Arjuna Awards, the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award honors excellence in four categories: Land Adventure, Water Adventure, Air Adventure, and Lifetime Achievement for adventure activities across these domains. Each awardee receives a bronze statuette, a certificate, a blazer with a silken tie or saree, and a cash prize of 15 lakh rupees.
Nominations for the 2024 awards are being accepted online through the portal https://awards.gov.in from June 1 to July 15. Detailed guidelines and eligibility criteria are available on the portal and the Ministry’s website at https://yas.nic.in. Individuals with exceptional performance, continuous achievements, and qualities such as leadership, discipline, and a spirit of adventure are encouraged to apply before the deadline.
