Actress Yami Gautam praised Hollywood actor Cillian Murphy for winning the Oscars for his performance in 2023s hit movie Oppenheimer and said it is talent that stands the tallest above anything.
Yami, who was recently seen in Article 370, said she does not believe in fake filmy awards which stopped her from attending such events.
Having no belief in any of the current fake filmy awards, since the last few years, I stopped attending them but today i am feeling really happy for an extraordinary actor who stands for patience, resilience so many more emotions, she said.
Praising Murphy, Yami wrote: Watching him being honoured on the biggest global platform tells us that in the end its your TALENT that stands the tallest above anything. Congratulations #CillianMurphy!
Christopher Nolans Oppenheimer, the epic story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the first atomic bomb, swept the Oscars night on Sunday at the 96th Academy Awards, winning the Best Movie laurel, along with six other awards.
Nolans blockbuster biopic on the life of Oppenheimer, who was torn between a guilt conscience and remorsefulness over the atomic bombs catastrophic effects after the bombs were dropped in Japan at the fag end of the Second World War, won the honors for best director (Nolan), best actor (Cillian Murphy), best supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.), best cinematography (Hoyte van Hoytema), best film editing (Jennifer Lame) and best original score (Ludwig Gransson).
Receiving the award, Murphy said, We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb and for better or for worse, we are all living in Oppenheimers world, so Id like to dedicate to the peacemakers everywhere.
