Today is World Soil Day. In Ladakh, the Agriculture Department Kargil celebrated World Soil Day 2024 at Shakar village in Chiktan Sub Division, focusing on this year’s theme, “Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage.” The event aimed to raise awareness about soil health and its crucial role in sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5th December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources.
