In squash, India’s men and women teams advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Team Championships in Ontario, Canada. The fifth-seeded Indian men defeated 11th-seeded Kuwait 2-1 in the pre-quarterfinals .
Yusha Nafees lost the opening match in straight games to Abdullah Ali, but Aryaveer Dewan leveled the tie with an 11-5, 11-6, 11-5 victory over Khaled Walead Al Fouzain. Gurveer Singh then sealed the win with an 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 triumph against Abdul Rahman Al Sanea. India will face England in the quarterfinals.
The Indian women completed the group stage with a dominant 3-nil win over South Africa. Rudra Singh defeated Makayla Naidoo 11-4, 11-5, 11-3 before Anahat Singh cruised past Brianna Robinson 11-1, 11-1, 11-3. Saanvi Kalanki completed the sweep with an 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 victory over Vivienne Van Der Schyff. India’s women will take on the United States in the quarterfinals.
