World Elder Abuse Awareness Day being observed globally –

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is being observed today globally. The day provides an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect. The theme for this year is – “Addressing Abuse of Older Adults in Long Term Care Facilities: Through Data and Action”. This theme focus on the abuse of older adults in longterm care facilities.
In India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is also celebrating this day. #AgeingWithDignity is being used to share content on social media.
