In the Women’s Asia Cup T20 Cricket, India secured a comfortable 78-run victory over UAE in Dambulla, Sri Lanka last evening. With this victory, India guaranteed themselves a semi-final spot. Put in to bat first, India scored 201 for five in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 66 runs while wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh’s unbeaten 64 took the Indian side to their highest T20 score.
In reply, UAE could only muster to score 123 runs losing 7 wickets in their 20 overs. The Indian side now are at the top of the points table in Group A with 4 points from 2 matches. India will next take on Nepal tomorrow. Today, Sri Lanka Women will take on Malaysia Women in a Group B match. The match will start at 2 PM. In the second Group B fixture of the day, Bangladesh Women will lock horns with Thailand Women. The match will start at 7 pm.
