

Women play an important role in the progress of the country. If women advance, the country will advance, and society will improve. A developed India will develop. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said “while inaugurating the 2nd State-based Urban Prosperity Utsav 2024 organised by Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission at Agartala Children’s Udyan today.”.
On the occasion, he said that there was a time when it was accepted that women would only do housework. That image is now gone.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Marg Darshan, the central and state governments are striving to advance women in every field. The present central and state governments are enacting various schemes and facilities for the development of women.
The chief minister also said on the occasion that 33 percent of government jobs have been reserved for women in the state. Currently, 83 thousand 424 Lakhpati Didis have achieved rural women’s socio-economic status through self-help groups. 50 percent of facilities are being provided to women in the distribution of government stalls. The state government has reduced stamp duty from 5 percent to 4 percent for women for deed registration.
The CM said that social allowance is being given to about 4 lakh to 10 thousand beneficiaries in the state. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, around 3 lakh, 11 thousand, and 163 people have been given free LPG gas connections in the state so far. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, more than 4 lakh residential houses have been built in the state. This government wants a roof over everyone’s head.
The Chief Minister said that one of the reflections of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ is the passage of self-help groups. It is reflected in the Urban Prosperity Festival. On the occasion, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha wished for the further prosperity and success of this fair.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha handed over bank loan checks to various self-help groups and beneficiaries on the occasion. Urban Development Department Secretary Abhishek Singh delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
Agartala Purnigam Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta and Corporator Ratna Dutta also spoke. Urban Development Department Director Rajat Pant gave a speech of thanks. Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission, MD Prasad Rao Bhadarapu, and others were present.
