Indian film Kalki 2898 AD featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone in the lead has swept the box office amid rave reviews from the audience.

Now, fans have started speculating whether Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salman, who were seen in the first part, will feature in the sequel.

In a recent interview, director Nag Ashwin was asked this question.

In reply, Ashwin said as quoted by 123 Telugu.com I mean, they are pretty much limited to what role they have. Obviously, it is possible to expand it into something else, especially for Dulquer Salmaan.

But as of now, it is what it is. I have read a few fan theories floating around. They are pretty cool. If those ideas make sense, definitely yes. If there is a better idea or a seed of a thought, I will include them. All writers are greedy (laughs).

The film, which released in theatres on June 27, has collected Rs. 416.42 crore in the box office.

The film, which also features Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee in the lead, has grossed Rs. 409.5 crore.

Its timeline commences with Indian epic Mahabharata and merges with 2898 AD.
