Politicians are often accused of making false promises and often lying to the public. But all will agree that even in their lie there remains a sugar coat that manages to befool the commoners. But it may so happen sometimes, rarely though, that an important minister makes false claim , for apparently no reason.
A question that is being asked for the last two days not only in Tripura but also in the entire country as to who is the Home Minister of Tripura. As far as our knowledge goes he is the Chief Minister himself – Biplab Kumar Deb. And as of today ( Saturday) there is no report that any change was made to the ministerial portfolios in the state.
But surprisingly Jail and Fire service minister Ram Prasad Paul claims that he is the Home Monister of Tripura, not once but repeatedly. First such instance came during his Bangladesh visit. Now in Hariyana where he is presently on tour.
In the Total TV of the Hariyana Paul was time and again introduced as ‘Home Minister of Tripura – Griho Mantri’ while taking his interview. It is more than obvious that Paul’s officials accompanying him told the Total TV that he was the ‘Home Minister’ and officially he might have also been recorded as such. Moreover, when the interviewer introduces Paul as the Home Minister, he did not correct him – which he could have easily done while commenting. But he did not and continued make statement as if he is the Home Minister in a nonchalant manner. The video has already gone viral and people are making questions- with small smile, of course.
If this was not enough Paul also made an interesting statement that during Left Front regime 70 percent rpt 70 percent land of total land area of that were illegally captured by the Communist party cadres. While the capturing of land by the CPM cadres illegally is a fact, but 70 percent of total land of the state being illegally captured is something that would definitely raise some eye brows.
Point is , such introduction of the minister Ram Prasad Paul as Home Minister of Tripura out side the state is serious in a sense that it will not make the people from other states , especially in far off region confused, but it also will paint a poor picture of the minister himself.
