Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today said Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur was a real statesman and he was a visionary politician who took various reformative steps which forayed Bihar into the realm of new social renaissance.

Addressing the 101st birth anniversary ceremony of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur at Karpoori Gram in Samastipur today, the Vice President said implementation of reservation for social justice, education in mother tongue and promotion of inter-caste marriage was some of the prominent revolutionary steps he introduced in Bihar which shows his great statesmanship.

Mr. Dhankhar said he was the real mass leader and that’s why he is remembered as Jan Nayak. The Vice President paid tribute to Jan Nayak as a propagator of clean and simple politics.

Mr Dhankhar said Karpoori Thakur never promoted da ynasty in politics and his immaculate nature made him different from the league by doing service to the downtrodden and deprived.

Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Governor Bihar Arif Mohammad Khan, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, Union Ministers Bhagirath Choudhary and Ram Nath Thakur were also present at the function.
