Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attended a special event in Agra to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. Speaking at the function on Sunday, he said Ahilyabai’s life was not just a moment in history, but a guiding philosophy for all Indians. He urged everyone to follow her values and ideals.
The Vice President praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for following in Ahilyabai Holkar’s footsteps. He said that today, Uttar Pradesh stands for good governance and the rule of law. “That’s why UP is now becoming ‘Uttam Pradesh’,” he said.
Mr. Dhankhar congratulated the Indian Army for the success of Operation Sindoor, saying the army’s bravery sent a strong message to the world that India is ready to fight and defeat terrorism.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke at the event. He said that when a society draws inspiration from great leaders like Ahilyabai Holkar, no obstacle can stop its progress. He praised Ahilyabai’s work for women, farmers, artisans, and India’s cultural heritage, calling her life “a shining example.”
CM Yogi said his government is running several welfare schemes inspired by Ahilyabai’s values. These include Lakhpati Didi, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matri Vandana Yojana, and the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. These programmes aim to empower women, support families, and promote self-reliance.
