Tension gripped the Batrasai area of North Tripura’s Dharmanagar district following a violent altercation between migrant workers and locals on Tuesday. The clash erupted when migrant workers, who vend goods on the streets and reside as tenants in Abdul Malik’s residence, engaged in a verbal dispute with locals at a tea shop.

What began as a minor altercation quickly escalated into physical violence, leaving six migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh severely injured. Identified as Mohammad Shahrukh Khan (23), Mohammad Osman (20), Abdullah (23), Asif Mia (20), and others, they are currently receiving medical treatment at Dharmanagar Hospital.

As the situation worsened, OC Nadugopal Deb led a sizable police contingent that quickly reached the area. The North Tripura District Superintendent of Police, Bhanupada Chakraborty, also rushed to the location to restore order. Security measures have been intensified in the area to prevent any further disturbances.

Security measures have been heightened in the vicinity to prevent further disturbances and maintain peace. The incident underscores the need for community harmony and effective conflict resolution mechanisms to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the region.
