In an attempt to take the political heat to the national capital CPM lsecretary Sitaram Yechury and politburo member Manik Sarkar castigated the BJP-led State Government in aa press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday.  Their allegations pivoted around the recent attacks which the Marxists  termed  as ‘blatant violation of Constitutional Rights in Tripura’.

Speaking about the prevailing situation in the State, Manik Sarkar alleged, BJP has converted Tripura as their laboratory – laboratory of one party dictatorial fascist regime. He also said the performance of the BJP government in Tripura is dismal. He termed the performance of BJP as ‘minus zero’.

The BJP in Tripura backed by the state government has unleashed a reign of terror and intimidation against all activities of the opposition in Tripura focusing their anger and frustration against the CPM and the Left Front. It has also attacked media houses, CPM leaders said.

CPM leaders also said, the police were either bystander or refused to respond to calls regarding the attacks on homes and party offices.
