Actor Vikram’s much-awaited action entertainer #Chiyaan63 has officially gone on floors. Directed by Anand Shankar and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film features Vikram in a powerful new avatar as a dangerous cook. The project also stars Riya Shibu and boasts music by Santhosh Narayanan.
The makers of actor Vikram’s highly anticipated action entertainer, tentatively titled #Chiyaan63, have officially announced the commencement of shooting for the film. The project, directed by filmmaker Anand Shankar and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, marks another major collaboration in Tamil cinema and has already generated significant excitement among fans.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through the official social media handles of Sathya Jyothi Films. Sharing the update, the production house stated that filming had begun with “power and passion,” confirming that the project had officially gone on floors.
The film was first announced on the occasion of Vikram’s birthday earlier this year. At that time, the makers unveiled a special teaser titled “First Flame”, which offered audiences a glimpse into the unique world of the upcoming action drama. The teaser quickly attracted attention for showcasing Vikram in a never-before-seen role.
One of the most intriguing revelations from the teaser was Vikram’s character, who appears to be a cook. However, the video made it clear that he is far more than an ordinary chef. A voiceover in the teaser describes him as “just a cook” but warns others not to underestimate him, calling him extremely dangerous.
The action-packed visuals depict a group of assailants attempting to break into a heavily secured structure where Vikram’s character is located. Despite their efforts, the doors remain locked and impenetrable. As tensions rise, explosives are hurled into the room. In a striking sequence, Vikram is seen calmly sitting on a large cooking vessel, casually lighting a smoke while explosions land around him, reinforcing the fearless nature of his character.
The makers recently expanded the cast by bringing actress Riya Shibu on board. While details regarding her role remain under wraps, her inclusion has added further curiosity surrounding the project.
The film’s story has been penned by director Anand Shankar himself, who is known for delivering stylish commercial entertainers. Industry observers believe that the director’s collaboration with Vikram could result in one of the most anticipated Tamil releases in the coming years.
Backing the project are producers Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films. The film features an accomplished technical crew, adding to expectations surrounding the production.
Acclaimed composer Santhosh Narayanan has been entrusted with the music, while veteran cinematographer R D Rajasekar will handle the visuals. Production design responsibilities have been assigned to Rajeevan, and dialogues are being written by Shan Karuppusamy.
The editing department will be led by Raymond Derrick Crasta, while Surya Rajeevan serves as the art director. Costume design is being overseen by Poornima Ramaswamy, ensuring a strong visual identity for the film.
The project also holds special significance because it forms part of Vikram’s ambitious lineup announced earlier this year. In February, the celebrated actor revealed that he would be collaborating with four directors he deeply admired, each project offering a distinct cinematic experience.
Sharing the announcement with fans, Vikram had stated that he spent considerable time waiting for stories that genuinely moved him. He expressed gratitude for beginning four different films with filmmakers he respects and admired, promising audiences exciting cinematic journeys ahead.
