Despite a noticeable rise in flower prices, the festive mood remained undeterred as hundreds stepped out to mark the occasion with their loved ones.
From early morning, flower vendors reported a heavy rush of buyers, especially those seeking red roses — the timeless symbol of love. Shopkeepers said demand was significantly higher than usual, driven not only by Valentine’s Day but also by the ongoing wedding season. Buyers expressed concern over the sharp increase in prices, noting that bouquets and gift items also became more expensive compared to regular days. “We understand that demand is high, but the sudden hike in prices is noticeable,” said a young customer purchasing flowers for his fiancée. Nevertheless, most couples agreed that the day’s emotional significance outweighed the additional expense.
