Vaani Kapoor salutes the Indian Armed Forces for their courage and integrity following Operation Sindoor. Her remarks come amid rising India-Pakistan tensions and the postponement of her film Abir Gulaal with Fawad Khan, who stirred controversy by criticizing the Indian strike.

Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor has publicly expressed her deep respect for the Indian Armed Forces amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. In a heartfelt note shared through the stories section of her Instagram handle, Kapoor praised the unwavering commitment and valor of the Indian military following their successful operations in response to recent attacks.

“What we witnessed wasn’t just a successful defense, but a powerful, robust display of strength, strategy, and unwavering commitment by the Indian Armed Forces, doing what they do best—defending the nation with resolve and integrity,” wrote the Bell Bottom actress.

Kapoor further expressed her gratitude by saying, “I salute the Indian Army for ensuring our nation’s safety, for standing guard while we sleep in peace, and for carrying out their duty with unmatched courage, precision, and humility.”

Her statement comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a significant Indian military strike targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7. The operation was launched as a direct response to the deadly Pahalgam attack. The mission marked a decisive escalation in military activity along the Line of Control (LoC), with India also intercepting a large-scale Pakistani drone incursion.

Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor’s upcoming film Abir Gulaal, which was set to mark the Bollywood comeback of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, has been indefinitely postponed in India. The delay follows the renewed strain in India-Pakistan relations and the growing public backlash against collaborations with Pakistani talent.

Fawad Khan, known for his roles in Khoobsurat, Kapoor & Sons, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, has faced increasing criticism in India. His return was already contentious due to the long-standing unofficial ban on Pakistani actors following the 2016 Pulwama attack.

Adding fuel to the fire, Khan recently stirred controversy by calling Operation Sindoor “shameful” in a social media post. “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack,” he wrote, urging for restraint and peace while signing off with “Pakistan Zindabad.”

His statement was met with strong backlash across Indian social media, reigniting debates around cross-border collaborations in cinema and the larger geopolitical narrative.

As tensions continue to escalate, voices like Vaani Kapoor’s resonate with many Indians who view the Armed Forces as the ultimate guardians of national security and pride.
