In Uttarakhand, the weather has turned cold due to the first snowfall of the season in high-altitude areas of the state including Chamoli, Champawat, Uttarkashi and Dehradun Districts.
At the same time, a drop in temperature has been recorded in the plains due to frost in the morning and evening. Blankets, warm clothes and essential items are being provided in rain shelters to protect the needy from the cold wave. Also, arrangements for bonfires have been made at the main intersections of the state.
