In a program organised in Dehradun today on the occasion of International Olympic Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the recent successful hosting of the 38th National Games has paved the way for Uttarakhand to be recognised as a land of sports. He said that the sports infrastructure of the state has now become world-class, and Uttarakhand is now fully prepared to host not only national but also international-level sports competitions. He said that work is progressing rapidly toward the establishment of 23 sports academies in eight major cities of the state, a Sports University in Haldwani and a Women’s Sports College in Lohaghat.
