US President Donald Trump has suggested to expel Spain from NATO over its failure to match the higher defence spending. Talking to the media at the White House, President Trump said no excuse can be entertained. NATO members in June agreed to raise their military spending to 5 per cent of gross domestic product by 2035. Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez rejected the target, calling it incompatible with country’s welfare state and world vision.
