In US Open tennis, India’s Yuki Bhambri and New Zealand’s Michael Venus defeated the American duo of Marcos Giron and Learner Tien 2- nil in the First round of Men’s doubles clash this morning.
 
Earlier, Indian men’s doubles duo Anirudh Chandrasekar and Vijay Prashanth thrashed eighth-seeded American pair Christian Harrison and Evan King 2-1.
 
This was their maiden triumph at a Grand Slam, achieved in just their third major appearance. They will now take on Brazil’s Fernando Romboli and Australia’s John-Patrick Smith in the second round today.
 
In the pre-quarterfinals line-up of men’s singles, World No. 2 and former champion Carlos Alcaraz will be up against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech in pre-quarterfinals of today. Serbian Novak Djokovic will take on Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany.
 
In the women’s singles Pre-quaterfinals clash, Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will face Spain’s Cristina Bucsa. Jessica Pegula of USA will take on compatriot Ann Li. Meanwhile, Former champion Naomi Osaka will be up against American Coco Gauff.
