Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation has announced a special one‑day guided tour from Lucknow to the sacred cities of Ayodhya and Naimisharanya on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The initiative, aimed at promoting religious and cultural tourism, includes tour packages with discount offers for elderly travellers. Each package includes lunch, refreshments, a souvenir, and the services of local guides who will narrate the legends associated with each sacred site.
In addition, a special ‘Sur Sadhana’ programme will be held from today at over two dozen religious and tourist destinations across the state. Artists will perform folk singing, bhajan, kirtan, folk dance, folk drama, puppetry, magic shows, classical singing, instrumental music, storytelling, dastangoi, poetry recitation, and more. The government will also provide financial support, including 15,000 rupees to folk dance artists, 10,000 rupees to bhajan and folk singers, and 5,000 rupees to artists of other genres.
