Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan Transfers ₹3,900 Cr to Farmers Under PMFBY

An amount of 3,900 crore rupees was transferred through DBT to more than 35 lakh farmers of the country as claim payment under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. In this, an amount of 1,400 crore rupees was transferred to 9 lakh 70 thousand farmers of Rajasthan.
 
In a program organized in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, this afternoon, Union minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chauhan transferred this amount by pressing the remote button. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary were also present in the program.
 
Addressing the program, the Union Agriculture Minister said that the Narendra Modi government at the Center has made extensive reforms in the crop insurance scheme, as a result of which now even if there is crop loss in a village, the farmer gets an insurance claim. He said that from 2016 till now, the farmers of the country have received an amount of more than 2 lakh 12 thousand crore rupees in the form of crop insurance claim.
 
Mr. Chauhan said that the Central Government is continuously taking decisions to make the farmers prosperous by increasing their income. The Union Minister warned those selling substandard fertilizers and seeds and said that those cheating farmers will not be spared.
 
He said that preparations are underway to bring a new law soon to take strict action against those making and selling substandard fertilizers and seeds.

Addressing the program, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma called upon farmers for scientific farming. He said that fertilizers should be used as per need only after testing the soil.
